Im currently insured with Geico. I got my plan back last year when i had a beater car (2001 nissan maxima). My premium was only 260 or so for the whole year, whiche came out to 40 bucks or so a month. ive since bought a new car (2013 nissan versa) and switched it with my old car. my monthly payment only went up 4 or 5 bucks as a result. This rate is fricking great and i have no problems. however, when i go to refinance (for lack of a better word) my insurance or simply shop around, for some reason the quotes they give me skyrockets my payments to 260+ a month!! the same is for other insurance providers aswell, even the insurance offered by my bank! what gives? why the huge leap? i have a clean record (no accidents ever, last speeding ticket was 4+ years ago), what was at the time, a brand new car, aswell as a better job (was working in a restaurant, now at a lawfirm). i'm 17 and was wondering if a mini cooper would be a good first car. i never really wanted one, my one of my friends is like obsessed with them and since then i've been looking into it. i know they have 5 star safety rating so they're very safe and easy to control and can fit into small parking spaces because, well, they're small =) But how about insurance? A friend of mine has Blue Cross Blue Shield through his employer in Florida. His premium is a whopping $600.00 a month. He wanted to lower his premium and his employer says he can't change his insurance plan. He wanted to cancel his insurance and his boss says he can't, unless he fires him. I told him it sounded as though his boss is ripping him off. He contacted Blue Cross Blue Shield and they told him his boss has the right to charge ANY amount he wishes. They would give him no information about his premiums and referred him back to his employer. My friend doesn't even remember if he ever got his paper policy. All the links to write the insurance commissioner has not worked. Can anyone tell me out there if it isn't true that it is anyone's civil right to cancel an insurance policy and what my friend might do next?

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE SOMEWHERE HELP There is NO PUBLIC transportation to get him to his place of employment , he needs his own transport , riding a bicycle is out of the question , he would be exhausted by the time he got there as his work place is 8 miles away , in windy weather he would be blown of it and in wet weather he would be soaked to the skin before he got there , he has to use his car . If I took him to work , I would have to make the 8 mile journey 4 times , if he does it , the journey would be twice . His Mother has her own car but works the opposite direction . her insurance is less than 500 but that is more than twice my insurance because I have held a driving license for longer , my insurance is very much lower . Our Son is too young to legally drive my vehicle . PLEASE HELP

So i dented my mother's car by hitting another car. i told my mother it was a hit and run and she told me she was going to have the insurance company take care of it. The dent on the car wasn't that bad but it was pretty noticeable but the car that i hit didn't have any dents, just a few scratches .So the owner of car came out and took a look at her car and she said don't worry about it and thats when she let me go. I was pretty shocked of how she handle the situation. So can the car insurance find out if I'm was lying? i told them that a scooter hit it. The dent almost looks like somebody through a rock at it. The dent doesn't really look like i drove it into a car. its a really small dent with little cracks.

Does anybody know of any insurance companies that you don't need a college degree to work at? Apparently you need one for liberty mutual which is where I was looking to work. I was working at American income for a month but was not satisfied with how the company is operated. I'm looking to go into property and casualty as well. Is there any good companies out there that will hire with a little experience and offer a schooling program for property and casualty? I already hold a life license good for the next 2 years.

My husband and I plan on trying for our 3rd child sometime around August/September. For our first child, we were eligible for Medicaid and for our second we were on Tricare since my husband was deployed. However, right now I'm the only one who is uninsured. My husband can go to the VA Hospital anytime he needs to and my kids are on State insurance. We really don't want to get some type of family insurance since everyone besides me is all taken care of. So my question is: Is there some type of insurance that covers pregnancy that I could just sign up for? I decided to come here before really starting my research on the off-chance someone here is on one/knows of one. Since a lot of insurances would say a pregnancy was a pre-existing condition and not cover me, I want to be on it before we even start trying. Anyway, thanks!

Will CT speeding ticket effect my NY insurance?

I have recently received an out-of-state speeding ticket in CT, and the state's policy is that if you just pay the ticket (pleading no contest) there will not be any points added to your license. The policy for my home state, New York, is that the state does not record out of state moving violations such as this one. My question is that if I were to just pay the ticket so I wouldn't receive points, would my insurance company in NY still be able to raise my rates for this? Would they even find out? Anyone with a simalar experience between these two states would be extremely helpful
